Transfer Stats 2.3
(C) Copyright 1991 by Dave Navarro, Jr.
PCBoard/ProDoor Bulletin Generator
What is Transfer Stats:
Well, once again, I hit the BBS's in search of a bulletin generator
that would create a bulletin with the top files downloaded on my BBS
and once again, I didn't find anything I liked. The only thing that
came close was HOTSTUFF, but I didn't like the bulletin format.
So, once again, I hit the compiler, and Transfer Stats was born..
Unlike many other similar utilities, TS also tracks the overall CPS
of the file transfers, gives statistics on protocol usage, trims the
DOWNLOAD.TXT file to the number of days desired (optional), and lets
you MASK out any filenames you don't want to appear in the bulletin.
Bulletins can be generated as ASCII, ASCII/ANSI, or PCB, and the colors
used are completely configurable.
To use TS, type TRSTAT on the command line. TRSTAT will search the
current directory for the configuration file TRSTAT.CNF (you can use
multiple configuration files by including the filename on the command
line, such as TRSTAT MYCONFIG.CNF). TS will read the configuration file
get your configuration options, analyse the DOWNLOAD.TXT file specified
and generate the bulletin.
At present the maximum number of protocols TS will track is 50, and the
maximum number of MASK filenames is 10000.. However, both are wholly
dependant on the amount of memory in your computer (or assigned to the
window if in a multitasker). To help you, TS displays memory usage as it
analyses your DOWNLOAD.TXT file... If you run out of memory and are
working within a multitasker, then assign more memory to the "window"
that TS is running in, or lower the number of masked files.
